(SYDNEY, NS – May 12th, 2023) – Cape Breton race fans will have to wait one more day to see the opening of the 2023 season. Due to the forecast of rain throughout the morning and afternoon on Saturday, the 2023 Season Opener at Bud’s Speedway has been postponed 24 hours to Sunday, May 14th. The race day schedule at the Sydney, Nova Scotia will remain the same as scheduled for the event with pit gates opening at 8am, grandstand gates open at 11am and racing beginning at 12pm.
The event features 100-laps of Robby’s Towing Late Model Sportsman action along with point paying features for the GWL Trucking & Landscaping Bandoleros, Mallard Electric Hobby Stock, Saf-way Auto Parts V6 Thunder, NAPA Auto Parts Mini Stocks and That’s Right Roofing Street Stocks.

Drivers are reminded they can save time at the gate on Sunday morning by pre-registering their car for the 2023 Season Opener by heading to BudsSpeedway.com. The new website is also the place to find up to date information for competitors, including rules, a complete race day format and a link to the eWaiver, which must be filled out ahead of entering the pits on Sunday.
A supply drive will also held in support of Haley Street Adult Services Centre Society. A supply list can be found on the Bud’s Speedway Facebook page. Each donation will receive a chance to win a detail package from 125 Details!

Adult grandstand admission price for the 2023 Season Opener on Sunday, May 14th is $20 (aged 19 and up), Youth 8 to 18 years of age are $10 each with children aged seven and under admitted to the grandstands free of charge. Pit admission is $30 and is restricted to those 18 years of age and older.
